Tens of thousands of active duty military personnel returning from war face daunting transition issues as they reintegrate into civilian life; nearly 22,000 members of America’s armed forces are scheduled to return to civilian life this year alone.
Because less than 1% of Americans have served in the military, civilians are increasingly dissociated from veterans, their families, and an understanding of their service.
We believe that what we don’t know can and does hurt us. That’s why storytelling can be such a powerful agent of social change. Our mission is to connect veterans and civilians through conversations that address fundamental gaps in understanding. By doing so, we will begin to initiate meaningful conversations that create community.
